The fundamental design of the approach, entrance and the lobby “Misakura-no-Ma” was inspired by the fact that the hotel is located where a historical soy-sauce merchant had existed. The designer himself drew the gold-leafed byobu-like painting which precisely reproduces the mountains that surround Kyoto.
